These measures are participating in
a optimized breeding of live stock and an increased supply of protein for
the population. Today, 95% of the kiddy goats survive the first winter.
Earlier it was only 65%. A healthy goat population is an important part
in the strategy of fighting against hunger and malnurishment.
Dr. med. vet. Peter Summermatter is
teaching and giving pratical training in getting fresh goat sperm, deepfreezing
it and artifical insemnation (September 2000). This training will be continued
this year.
